When you think of the world’s most famous stadiums, you often imagine them as being located in the heart of big cities. However, some of them are built on the outskirts, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. These stadiums have their own advantages, including ample space for modern infrastructure and easier access for fans coming from out of town.

Here is a list of 10 famous stadiums that are far from city centers:

1. Deutsche Bank Park – 5.2 km from the center of Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt’s stadium is known for its lively atmosphere and modern facilities. Its location allows for easy access from the highway and public transportation.

2. Juventus Stadium – 5.3 km from the center of Turin

Home to the famous Italian club Juventus, this modern stadium has a unique atmosphere. It is located away from the center to provide a calm and organized experience for fans.

3. FNB Stadium – 5.8 km from the center of Johannesburg

Also known as “Soccer City,” this stadium was the scene of the 2010 World Cup final. Its location outside the city center allows organizers to better manage traffic and security.

4. Luzhniki Stadium – 5.9 km from the center of Moscow

One of Russia’s most historic stadiums, Luzhniki has hosted World Cup finals and the Olympic Games. Although far from the city center, it is well-connected to Moscow’s public transport network.

5. Japan National Stadium – 6 km from the center of Tokyo

This modern stadium was built for the 2020 Olympics and is one of the most advanced facilities in Japan. With its eco-friendly design and cutting-edge technology, it is a prime example of sustainable architecture.

The world’s largest stadium by capacity, it can host up to 132,000 fans. Its location on the outskirts of Ahmedabad allows for better crowd management during major cricket events.

7. NRG Stadium – 9 km from downtown Houston

This stadium is one of the largest sports complexes in the US and hosts a variety of events from American football to major concerts. Its distance from the city center offers ample parking and easy access from highways.

8. Allegiant Stadium – 9.8 km from downtown Las Vegas

Home to the NFL team, the Las Vegas Raiders, this ultra-modern stadium is one of the newest on this list. With a capacity of around 65,000 seats and advanced technology, it is located near the city’s main thoroughfare, but outside its bustling center.

9. Birds Nest Olympic Stadium – 10 km from downtown Beijing

Known as the “Bird’s Nest,” this stadium was built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Its unique design attracts visitors from all over the world, while its remote location allows for ample space for major events and surrounding tourist attractions.

10. Olympiastadion Berlin – 11 km from the center of Berlin

The Olympiastadion in Berlin is a historic icon of German sport. It was built for the 1936 Olympic Games and has a capacity of over 74,000 seats. Although it is located far from the city center, good public transport connections make it easy for fans to reach this legendary arena.

These stadiums, despite being far from city centers, have done an excellent job of creating a comfortable and accessible environment for fans. Despite the distance, they continue to be major centers of sport and important global events.
