Fulham Football Club has provided a first glimpse at the new matchday experiences that will be available at the redeveloped Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage in London.
Whether fans want to lose themselves in the drama of Premier League play or take in panoramic views of the River Thames and the iconic London skyline with friends and colleagues from the stunning Sky Deck, this is the spectator experience reinvented.
The new Riverside Stand, designed by Populous, the world’s top architects for sports and entertainment arenas, seats about 8,000 people and expands Craven Cottage’s capacity to 28,500.
It features restaurants, bars, conference and event rooms, a boutique hotel, and a health club with a rooftop pool – a European football stadium first.
The new structure enhances the cultural and historic nature of Craven Cottage, which is one of England’s oldest continuously used grounds and has been home to Fulham FC since 1896.
The project was carried out in partnership with an engineering team from the worldwide engineering firm, WSP.
To ensure that the inside of the stand is as stunning as the outside, the Club has collaborated with numerous renowned European designers, including Lazaro Rosa Volan, Dion & Arles, Stuart Forbes Associates, and Music.
Fulham FC stated that the expansion will not only meet the Club’s operational and sporting needs during the football season, but will also serve as a community hub, increasing the liveliness of the region on non-match days.
The project, which is part of the larger redevelopment of Fulham Pier, will transform the “riverside walkway” into a world-class leisure destination, opening a pathway that will allow for the first time an uninterrupted walk along the banks of the River Thames between Hammersmith and Putney Bridges, connecting the stadium to the local community.
The whole spectrum of matchday experiences launched include:
The Sky Deck occupies the top three levels of the Riverside Stand and offers an unparalleled selection of social settings in breathtaking surroundings, as well as immersive food and drink pop-ups. The rooftop level offers sweeping views of the River Thames and the London skyline, elevating the matchday experience to new heights.
The Gourmet is Michelin-starred eating at the Water’s Edge. A four-course a la carte meal featuring premium wines, champagne, and cocktails can be enjoyed inside or on the patio overlooking the river.
The Brasserie provides a second Michelin Star dining experience that combines the best of both worlds. On one side, diners can enjoy the open-air riverbank terrace, while on the other, Enjoy luxurious seats on the midway line, providing unrivaled views of the action on the field.
The Dugout provides the most intimate football experience at Craven Cottage. Guests are seated just behind the coaching staff, which puts them in the midst of the action, as close as 3.5m to the touchline. Before or after the match, fans may relax in a sophisticated bar that serves food and drinks and is equipped with immersive audio-visual equipment.
These luxurious matchday experiences will be offered to the public beginning April 9th. The Dugout, along with Fulham FC’s Matchday Plus product, a premium general admission ticket, are set to open in time for the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season. The other Riverside experiences, including the Sky Deck, are set to open in December 2024.
Shahid Khan, Chairman of Fulham FC, stated, “My vision for the New Riverside Stand was to provide our fans and our neighbourhood with a destination that would continue to honour our history and tradition at Craven Cottage every day of the year, but especially on match days, with a premium experience that will be unlike anything in football, here in London or elsewhere.”
