Starting in January 2025, Toyota Stadium in Frisco will undergo significant upgrades. On September 17, the Frisco City Council approved a $182 million public-private partnership with FC Dallas to renovate the third-oldest soccer-specific stadium in Major League Soccer (MLS). Since the stadium is also used for Frisco ISD athletics, these renovations are designed to benefit the entire community, not just soccer fans. The goal is to provide local high school athletes with a world-class venue for competition.
Key improvements include enhancements to the club and suite levels. Two new suite levels will be added, and the club spaces on the east and west sides of the stadium will be upgraded. These sections will focus on enhancing the fan experience with premium food, drinks, and entertainment options. Additionally, new dedicated entrances for the clubs and suites will ensure faster entry and exit for fans.
The stadium’s seating capacity will also increase. Club seating capacity will expand by 175%, suites by 58%, and overall stadium capacity by more than 10%.
One of the most significant changes will be the addition of a roof, designed to cover most of the bowl seating. This roof will not only shield fans from the elements but also add a visually striking feature to the stadium, aligning with modern soccer venues worldwide.
Moreover, state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including new scoreboards, video displays, and an advanced sound system, will be installed. The centerpiece of this technological upgrade will be a massive 6,000-square-foot video board—the largest of its kind in any soccer-specific stadium in MLS.
