Puskás Aréna

Location: Zugló district

Capacity: 67,215

Opened: 2019

Named after the legendary Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás, the Puskás Aréna is the most iconic stadium in Budapest. It was built on the site of the former Népstadion, which was demolished in 2016. The Puskás Aréna serves as the national stadium of Hungary and hosts football matches, concerts, and other large-scale events. It was a key venue for the UEFA Euro 2020.

National Athletics Centre

Location: Budapest

Capacity: 36,000

Opened: 2014

The stadium was built on the eastern bank of the Danube River south of central Budapest, with a capacity of 36,000 for the championships, which will be reduced to 14,000 for future events.

Groupama Aréna

Location: Ferencváros district

Capacity: 22,000

Opened: 2014

Home to the famous Hungarian football club Ferencvárosi TC, the Groupama Aréna is a modern stadium that offers excellent facilities for fans. It replaced the old Albert Flórián Stadium and has become a central venue for domestic football matches. The stadium also hosts international fixtures and concerts.

Hidegkuti Nándor Stadium

Szusza Ferenc Stadium

Location: Újpest district

Capacity: 13,501

Opened: 1922

The Szusza Ferenc Stadium is one of Budapest’s historic football venues, serving as the home of Újpest FC. Named after the club’s legendary player Ferenc Szusza, it has been a key part of Hungarian football for nearly a century. The stadium has undergone several renovations to maintain its status as a premier football venue in the city.

Bozsik József Stadion

Location: Kispest district

Capacity: 8,000

Opened: 1913 (rebuilt in 2021)

Home to Budapest Honvéd FC, the Bozsik József Stadion has a rich history and a strong connection to Hungarian football. The old stadium was demolished, and a new, modern facility was opened in 2021. The stadium is named after József Bozsik, one of Hungary’s greatest footballers and a key member of the Mighty Magyars.

Vasas SC Stadion (Illovszky Rudolf Stadion)

Location: Angyalföld district

Capacity: 5,054

Opened: 1960 (rebuilt in 2019)

The Vasas SC Stadion, also known as Illovszky Rudolf Stadion, is home to Vasas SC, a club with a storied history in Hungarian football. The stadium was recently rebuilt and reopened in 2019, offering modern facilities and a great atmosphere for fans. It is named after Rudolf Illovszky, a legendary player and coach of Vasas SC.

MVM Dome

Location: Groupama Aréna district

Capacity: 20,022

Opened: 2021

The MVM Dome is Budapest’s largest indoor arena, capable of hosting a variety of sports and entertainment events. With its state-of-the-art facilities, it is a premier venue for basketball, handball, concerts, and other major events. The dome’s versatility and modern design make it a key part of Budapest’s sporting infrastructure.
