FIFA has revealed the details of the 2026 World Cup, which will be organized in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. There were plenty of contentious choices, as is typical of a tournament of this scale co-hosted by many countries. So, let’s see what we already know about the stadiums that will host the 2026 World Cup.

BMO Field

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The stadium in Ontario, Canada, has a capacity of 45,000. At this arena, the Canadian men’s national soccer team overcame a 36-year World Cup drought by defeating Jamaica to secure a spot in Qatar 2022. The soccer team Toronto FC and the Canadian football team Toronto Argonauts call it home.

BC Place Stadium

Location: Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada

The BC Place was the major arena for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. It is situated on the banks of the False Creek inlet and has a capacity of 54,000. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC of Major League Soccer (MLS) and the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League have their home games here.

Estadio Azteca

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

This renowned football stadium in Mexico City played home to the World Cup finals in 1970 and 1986, welcoming Pele and Diego Maradona. The stadium now has a capacity of 83,000 and serves as the home of Club America, Cruz Azul, and the Mexico national team.

Estadio Akron

Location: Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico

The gorgeous football pitch at Zapopan, near Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, has a capacity of 48,000. C.D. Guadalajara plays their home games here during the regular season.

Estadio BBVA

Location: Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

The stadium in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico is commonly referred to as “El Gigante de Acero” – The Steel Giant. Monterrey plays their home games here, and the capacity for the World Cup is set to be 53,500.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA

The multi-purpose stadium in Georgia is home to the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and MLS’s Atlanta United FC. The FIFA match capacity is scheduled to reach 75,000 in 2026.

Gillette Stadium

Location: Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA

The Foxborough, Massachusetts, stadium is undergoing renovations in preparation for the FIFA World Cup. In 2003, Boston Stadium hosted FIFA Women’s World Cup matches. Location: Arlington, Texas, USA

NRG Stadium

Location: Houston, Texas, USA

Arrowhead Stadium

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, USA

SoFi Stadium

Location: Inglewood, California, USA

The most recently constructed stadium to host the World Cup 2026 was completed in 2020. The Los Angeles Rams and Chargers of the National Football League play their home games in Inglewood, California. It has a capacity of 70,000 and will stage the opening and closing ceremonies of the LA 2028 Olympic Games.

Hard Rock Stadium

Location: Miami Gardens, Florida, USA

The Miami Dolphins NFL team, the Formula One Miami Grand Prix, and the Miami Open tennis tournament are just a few of the frequent events held at the stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The arena for the Men’s Football World Cup is planned to hold 65,000 people.

Metlife Stadium

Location: East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA

Chile defeated Argentina in the 2016 Copa America football tournament final, which was held at the stadium with a capacity of 82,500. The NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets now play their home games at East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is located west of Manhattan Island in New York City.

LinColn Stadium

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Manchester United and Barcelona played the inaugural game at the stadium in 2003. The Philadelphia Eagles’ home stadium has a seating capacity of 69,000.

Levi’s Stadium

Location: Santa Clara, California, USA

Since its debut in 2014, the NFL’s San Francisco 49’ers have played their home games at the stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Super Bowl 50 was held in 2016 at the arena with a seating capacity of 71,000 people.

Lumen Stadium

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA

The horseshoe-shaped stadium has a seating capacity of 69,000 with a view of the Seattle cityscape. It is home to the MLS Seattle Sounders and the NFL Seattle Seahawks, and has hosted CONCACAF Gold Cup and Champions League fixtures.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in three separate nations, marking a first for the event. It’s also the first with 48 teams, and the action will take place in 16 stadiums, the most since 2002 in Japan and the Republic of Korea.
