Indonesia, with a population of approximately 274 million inhabitants, loves sports and especially football. Some popular sports in Indonesia are football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and the native Indonesian martial art pencak silat. We’re going to rate the best soccer stadiums in Indonesia, ranking them from worst to best.

In the 10th place we list Manahan Stadium, the home of Persis Solo, with a capacity of 20,000 seats. Aesthetically, this stadium looks quite beautiful, with the facade with traditional details and the uniform cover.

In the 9th place we list Aji Imbut Stadium, with a capacity of 35,000 seats. Completed in 2008, this stadium reminds us of the 2002 Japan-Korea World Cup due to the style of the cover and its shape.

The Mitra Kukar football team plays in this beautiful stadium.

In the 8th place we list Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium.
The stadium’s design adheres to the international standards for stadium design. The grass used is Zoysia matrella (Linn) Merr which is of FIFA standard class. The stadium is equipped with; a football pitch, athletics track, offices, big screen and fireproof seats from Ferco Seating. The stadium is completed with 38,000 seats.

Gelora Bandung Lautan Api is the home of the Persib Bandung team.

Built in 2016 Wibawa Mukti Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium located in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Indonesia. It is currently used mostly for football matches.The stadium can accommodate 28,778 people with all-seater configuration. This stadium also has excellent transportation access, one of which is close to the Cibatu toll gate on KM 34.7 of Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road.

In the 6th place we rank the Batakan Stadium.
The home of football club Persiba Balikpapan has a capacity of 40,000 seats. This stadium has a very beautiful shape and stands out from all the stadiums in the country, it looks more in the European style as a buildin.Batakan Stadium is located in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

With its spectacular view, Lukas Enembe Stadium ranks 5th in our list of the best stadiums in Indonesia.
Located between the Cyclops Mountains and Lake Sentani, the stadium has a capacity of 40,000 and is the home of Persipura Jayapura Football Club.

Riau Main Stadium with its unique shape of the cover that needs restoration, is proud of the 4th place in our ranking. The home of PSPS Riau football club is a multi-purpose stadium in Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia. Completed in 2012, it is mainly used for football matches and hosted the opening and closing ceremonies for Pekan Olahraga Nasional 2012. The stadium has a capacity of 43,923.

The third largest stadium in the country, Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Benowo, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. It is part of the Surabaya Sports Center. The rest of the sports complex consists of an indoor stadium, a race track, a roller skating rink, three football practice fields and a mosque. This stadium is mainly used for football matches. It replaced the old stadium Gelora 10 November. The stadium is used for football matches and is a new base for Persebaya Surabaya. The GBT can accommodate 46,806 spectators. The stadium is named after Bung Tomo, who is a National Hero of Indonesia.

In second place is the wonderful Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.
The stadium served as the main venue of the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games, hosting the ceremonies and athletics. It underwent renovations in preparation for the events; to comply with FIFA standards, all of the stadium’s existing seating was replaced, including its remaining bleachers, making it an all-seater with a capacity of 77,193.

The new seats are coloured in red, white, and grey—resembling a waving flag of Indonesia. A new, brighter LED lighting system was also installed, with 620 fixtures, and an RGB lighting system was installed on the stadium’s facade. Improvements were also made to the stadium’s accessibility.

An architectural masterpiece is proudly located in the first place. Jakarta International Stadium, opened on April 13, 2022, is the most modern stadium in Indonesia. This giant stadium with a capacity of 82,000 seats is located in Jakarta, Indonesia – it is the home of the football team Persija Jakarta and the Indonesian national football team. The entire project cost about 312 million dollars.
